Moments That Matter

Creating firsts that last — because joy isn’t extra, it’s essential.

We believe our young adults deserve more than just a place to stay, they deserve to flourish. That means joy, connection, and real-world experiences that build confidence, belonging, and purpose. These aren’t extravagant luxuries, they’re the kinds of moments most kids grow up expecting: beach trips, theme parks, road travel, laughter with friends. For many of our youth, these are firsts — first time leaving the state, first time seeing the ocean, first time feeling truly part of a community.

We create these experiences to restore a sense of normalcy, to remind them they’re not missing out on life. These are not add-ons; they’re game-changers. They foster trust, develop life skills, and create lasting memories that affirm each young adult’s value and possibility. This is where hope and inspiration happens. This is where culture is formed.

Cruisin' with Culture

Cruisin’ with Culture is more than a cruise vacation — it’s a powerful rite of passage for the young adults in our program. Over four days at sea, youth who’ve aged out of foster care experience something many have never had: a true break from survival. For some, it’s their first time leaving the state… or the country. For others, it’s their first time seeing the ocean, dressing up for formal dinner, or simply relaxing without fear.

On this cruise from Long Beach, California to Ensenada, Mexico, young adults step into a new world where they strengthen social skills, practice time management, learn budgeting, and navigate travel, all while forming meaningful connections with peers and staff.

For youth who have spent years living in crisis, this experience reminds them that joy, rest, and wonder are part of what they deserve — not exceptions to the rule.

A journey of freedom, firsts, and flourishing.

California adventures that spark confidence, connection, and joy.

Culture Craze

Culture Craze is one of our most anticipated experiences of the year where youth embark on a multi-day trip to California where young adults explore iconic destinations like Disneyland, the beach, and Six Flags. For many, it’s their first time feeling the ocean breeze, their first theme park, or their first time feeling free to just be a kid again.

This trip is about more than roller coasters and waves, it’s about exposure, belonging, and building memories that rewrite the story of what’s possible. From team bonding at the hotel to sunset beach reflections, every moment is intentionally designed to strengthen identity, spark joy, and foster trust among peers and staff.

For youth who have carried adult-sized responsibilities most of their lives, Culture Craze reminds them they’re allowed to play, to dream, and to feel safe while doing both.

Culture Waves

Culture Waves was our way of giving young adults a true summer moment, the kind that feels light, wild, and unforgettable. We loaded up a party bus, turned up the music, and headed to Lake Pleasant for a day on a double-decker yacht. From dancing on the top deck and jumping into the water to floating on giant rafts and battling it out in impromptu dance-offs, it was joy in its purest form.

But this wasn’t just about fun. It was about freedom. For youth who’ve had to grow up fast, this was a chance to just be: to feel the sun on their face, the water at their feet, and the safety of being surrounded by people who care.

Culture Waves reminded our young adults that they deserve joy, connection, and unforgettable memories, just like anyone else.

A summer lake day filled with freedom, laughter, and belonging.

Teamwork. Competition. Bragging rights. And a whole lot of Culture.

Culture Games

Culture Games brought out the best kind of energy: loud, competitive, and full of laughs. We rented out a full gym, formed teams, and went head-to-head in Olympic-style challenges for a cash prize. From relay races and obstacle courses to ridiculous team chants and hype moments, youth brought the heat, the hustle, and the heart.

But beyond the scoreboard, Culture Games was about showing up—for your team, for yourself, and for the community you’re part of. It created space for youth to lead, cheer each other on, and experience what it feels like to win together. For many, it was their first time competing as a team, and definitely their first time leaving with both cash and confidence.

Culture Cookout

Culture Cookout turned an ordinary night into something extraordinary. The grill was sizzling, the yard was alive with games and laughter, and the smell of comfort food carried through the air. Youth chased each other with water balloons, sent kites soaring into the sky, and later gathered around the fire for s’mores and stories. As movies played on the projector and Polaroids captured the smiles, a simple backyard became a place of belonging.

A night of food, fun, and the kind of

togetherness that sticks with you.

An annual tradition of joy, warmth, and celebration.

Culture Christmas

Every December, Culture Christmas transforms the season into something unforgettable. Young adults gather for a formal holiday dinner, laughter fills the room, and the glow of a giant Christmas tree sets the stage for a night that feels like family. Games, stories, and festive food create an atmosphere where everyone is reminded that they are seen, valued, and celebrated.

In past years, surprises have included Rudolph waiting with gifts and appearances from beloved holiday characters. Each year we like to introduce a new theme around Christmas to build anticipation and spark creativity, making the celebration feel fresh while keeping its heart the same.

Culture Christmas isn’t just another holiday gathering. It’s a tradition our youth look forward to and one that assures them the holidays can be filled with joy, connection, and hope.
